The Silencing of God’s Prophets Today

I find myself in the homes of presidents of nations. I prophesied over the Vice President of Malawi in a meeting that was a packed out place. I’d never met the man or seen the man. I didn’t even know who he was. He sat in the front row. He came in late with his wife and daughter. I was preaching and going along, and the Lord said, “Have him stand up and speak to him. I’ll give you the word.” I said, “Lord, I don’t know who he is. I guess he’s a preacher.” So I said, “Stand up, sir.” As soon as he stood up the Lord said, “You’re not running for office, but you will be the counsel to the king.” Well, the whole audience reacted, and I was the dumb one in the room. I just said to myself, “Ok” and I went back to preaching.

He was next to speak. He got up and said, “Well, I’d just like to say something this morning.” There was all kinds of pageantry when he got up to speak. He said, “The dear bishop, whom I have not met, just told you what my wife and I spoke about in our bedroom. I, as the Vice President of the nation, am not going to run for office. I was already campaigning to be the next president, but I had felt I needed not to run. The dear bishop has told the nation.”

Well, I wondered about how the nation knew… I hadn’t seen that they’d brought in the national television and they were broadcasting all over Malawi. So, I was looking for the back door! Afterwards he said to me, “Bishop, only God could have told you that because my wife and I never told our kids or anybody. You helped me today.” Later, he became the assistant to the president as his personal aid, and counsel to the president. I’m telling you that, not so you can applaud, but so you can realize that God has prophets, today, and there are levels of prophets.

Look at 1 Kings 22:1. I’ll tell you the story, a little bit, so you can read with me. If you were to look at some of this, you would see in verse 28 of chapter 21, that the Word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, “See how Ahab has humbled himself before Me? Because he has humbled himself before Me, I will not bring the calamity in his days. In the days of his son I will bring the calamity on his house.” Ahab is the King of Israel. Watch this! I’ll tell you the whole history.
